D&G Wild Spring Festival 2014 events unveiled
Details of a month-long wildlife festival to celebrate springtime in Dumfries & Galloway have been revealed. The Wild Spring event will run from 5 April to 5 May and include more than 100 "family-friendly" activities and promises to be the biggest and best yet.
Most of the events are led by wildlife experts and take in "natural delights" such as bats, badgers, moths, sharks and red squirrels.
Wilma Finlay, who chairs the Wild Spring Festival, said: "This year will be our biggest and best festival and we're looking forward to visitors from near and far coming along to witness some of the miraculous wildlife Dumfries and Galloway offers.
"There are so many wonderful experiences on offer for families and wildlife enthusiasts alike. Many of our events are free, our nature reserves and forestry visitor centres are second to none and what better way to enjoy the Easter holidays, than out in the fresh air exploring nature."
