Fallow Deer in Dumfries and Galloway

Fallow deer are less commonly seen throughout the region but sightings are a real possibility particularly in the southern parts of the Galloway Forest Park.  Sightings have been recorded at Knockman wood and Kirroughtree more recently.

When is best to see them:

Early morning and early evening throughout the year is a great time to look out for these very striking mammals.
