Wild Routes

There are more than 400 sites of natural interest in Dumfries and Galloway. Knowing which ones to visit to make the most of your time isn't easy, so we've suggested a number of 'wild routes' for you to follow. Some of these link up to a number of local attractions, are relatively compact and can be enjoyed in a day or less. Others are themed and cover wider areas, for those planning to spend longer in the region. For example, you can visit a number of different sites around Moffat or Wigtown or you can choose places across the region where you can see red squirrels or flocks of geese. Or combine the two approaches and move from area to area.
