Common Lizard

Variable colouration based on browns and grey with lines and patches, common lizards can be seen on forestry roads and other paths near the coast basking and in places on moorland and forestry edges. Once warmed up they can get into cover quickly, so walk slowly and be aware of your shadow!

Bearing live young of about 4cm long. Hibernating from October to March. The lizards feed on worms, slugs, snails and bugs.
